We saw that the colour of the liquid changed in both cups. In the plain water cup the liquid was pink and the chalk was smooth. In the vinegar cup the liquid was red and the chalk was rough. It also broke easily!
We think this means that acid rain is very bad for coral and for marine life. Humans need to be more careful and stop polluting!

Acid Rain Experiment
Today we used chalk, water and vinegar to find out how acid rain affects coral and underwater life.
We think the chalk in the vinegar might go soft or lose its colour. We think the chalk in the water will not be badly damaged. We will check tomorrow!

S1M wrote a short review together -
Today we finished reading ‘Matilda’ by Roald Dahl.
We thought it was an amazing story. Matilda is a little girl with powers like magic! She can tip a glass of water over without even touching it and pick up chalk with her eyes. The book was funny and sometimes sad but it had a happy ending.

S1M students got out and about last week, hunting for 3D shapes in our school.
We teamed up, searching for cylinders, cubes, prisms, spheres and cones.
Here you can see what we found!
